Giveaway: One-Year Menu Mailer and Recipe Archive Package Subscription!

by KerryAnn Foster on February 24, 2011

in Giveaways

Finally, a giveaway!

One winner of this giveaway will receive a 52-week subscription to both the Menu Mailer and the Recipe Archive. One runner-up will receive a 13-week subscription to the Menu Mailer.

The Menu Mailer

No-Toxins

The Menu Mailer covers five dinners (including side dishes), one breakfast, one soup and one dessert every week. It contains a full menu, shopping list, a preparation plan, and serving suggestions for each meal. Tips and information are included in every mailer as well. Ingredients are seasonal for the United States or Australia, your choice.

What makes the Cooking Traditional Foods menu mailer unique? A preparation schedule is included with every menu mailer. It reminds you when to thaw the meat, prep the crock-pot, or soak the grains. Because lack of planning is a major hurdle in getting healthy meals on the table, this schedule helps you make sure everything is done. It also contains blanks so you can write in your own reminders for breakfast, snacks and lunches.

The Cooking TF Menu Mailer has the option for every meal to be gluten and/or casein free, so those with food allergies or who are new to having to cook for someone with allergies do not have to convert the recipe. It also contains suggestions for gluten and casein free brands on each shopping list to assist those new to allergy cooking.

The Recipe Archive

The Recipe Archive is a compilation of all of the recipes that have been posted to Cooking Traditional Foods website and old blog. All recipes are labeled for gluten and casein content, so allergic users can see at a glance which recipes might work for them. There are currently over 500 recipes archived in this collection.

My biggest struggle is keeping it fresh and interesting. I feel like I get in a rut. I also feel like sometimes I fall back on the same things and I am not mixing things up enough. Like getting enough of the different vitamins and minerals for my kids. The other area I really struggle is what to feed my kids during the day and snacks that are good and nourishing for them.

I’m just getting started with traditional foods and my biggest struggles are keeping my husband and 18 month old happy with the food choices. We ate well before but it’s just different. And I’ve always needed help meal planning. So the menu mailer would really give me a jump start on both areas!

My biggest struggle preparing traditional foods for my family has been serving meals that my children will eat. We have eaten a diet full of refined foods for so long that my children have no taste for real food. Chili dogs, pizza, and mac-n-cheese are among their favorite meals. I need to figure out how I can make their favorites healthier. Also, I struggle with meal planning. I love flavorful foods, but I have no imagination when it comes to putting something together.

I shared on Facebook, liked it on Facebook, am a part of the forum, and my biggest struggle with traditional foods is preparing and resisting temptation. I often forget to thaw or soak and then get stuck with less than choices. I also have a hard time telling myself that I shouldn’t eat stuff LOL! Okay that should count as 4 entries bring on the giveaway!!

I like you on facebook and I just joined this site – terrific information! My biggest challenge is that I am a small business owner, and it is difficult preparing food and eating before 9pm after a 12-14 hour workday. I am working hard to make it happen, though, and I try not to eat prepared food more often than once per week. We farm, can our own food, and my husband is a hunter, so our freezer is stocked with all-natural meat and vegetables. Getting them from freezer/pantry to table will be easier with my daily Menu Mailer! Please pick me!

I am home all day, but with my household responsibilities, caring for my disabled husband, caring for my 3 children under 5, bible study and worship, attending midwifery school and family and friends, I struggle to “do it all”. I have been very interested in trying the Menu Mailer, so I bought one issue. I have really enjoyed it! It would be a huge blessing to have a whole year of mailers. As a good southerner, everything I know how to cook has dairy in it. Then, 8 mos ago I started trying to re-learn how to cook everything as I started seeing a man who has a dairy intolerance. Most dairy-free recipes use soy as a substitute — something I’m trying to avoid using if at all possible. I think this subscription could me find new recipes that I could learn for him so he can actually eat things that taste good! Most of what he currently eats is bland (which is partly from his lack of knowledge on spices, and his inability to use any dairy products).

My biggest challenge is the lack of meal-planning… I work night shift, and sometimes I am just too tired to cook… or I want something, but the grains are not soaked yet. or I don’t have a sour-dough starter. My daughter has definate food dislikes… she would live on bread and cheese if she could… or eggs on toast! and we both are over-weight with metabolic syndrome staring us in the face! I am also on a tight budget, and am aready spending $35/week for milk and eggs from a farm! (for 2!)

My biggest struggles are knowledge of how to do things such as soaking and fermenting, organization and my budget. I’m slowly learning techniques, but must get more efficient. With different food issues in the house and 5 kids (ages 10, 6, 4, 2, and 4 mos) I am very busy. The menu mailer would give me something to start with while the recipe archive would help me change meals according to the needs of my family.

I’m already a menu mailer subscriber, but would love to win this and get a free year! My biggest struggle is that we are gluten and dairy free as a family, due to allergies my children have, and your mailer has helped me SO much in overcoming those cooking difficulties while still providing healthy and traditional meals.

Our biggest struggle to fitting TF into our lifestyle is all the preparation (which requires forethough) that goes into it. We’ve spent the majority of our married lives not really thinking about what we’re going to eat until an hour or two before mealtime, so the adjustment in planning and preparation in advance has been a struggle for us. The TF mailer has helped us to be able to see in advance the work that needs to go into making a meal before we realize we’ve missed a step (or two) – it’s saved us time and time again those inevitable “oops” moments.

it is organization. I am fine if we stay at home everyday (; ) ) but the days
when we leave the house are chaos! I found the mailer helped me keep sane.

Thanks for the contest! My biggest challenge is snacks! My kids are always saying “there’s nothing to eat”. Well, there is, it just has to be prepared. Even after 4 years, they still are searching in the cupboards for chips… I would love some recipes for some simple to prepare, wholesome snacks, which don’t cost “the earth”. The children are pretty good about trying new things and will drink home-made Kombucha and beet Kvass, but they want some variety. Our favorite snack right now is organic popcorn, cooked in olive oil and coconut oil, sprinkled with raw melted butter and nutritional yeast – yummy, and good for you too!
225. NTMoMo says:

One of my biggest challenges of providing good, wholesome foods for my family is keeping healthy snacks on hand for the kids and keeping meals at the ready in my freezer, for those times when I don’t want to cook yet another meal today! Having more recipes that are prepared in traditional ways, using real ingredients, helps me feed my family better :)
